“I'm so proud to be a part of a movie that addresses mental health issues. They're so important.” #LadyGaga put the spotlight on #mentalhealth in an emotional and powerful speech while accepting her third award at the #GRAMMYs2019. Tag someone to remind them: “we’ve got to take care of each other.”
Of course, it is. We live in a fear-based society that’s always bombarding us with negative messages. There are people constantly telling you that you can’t do this or you can’t do that.
You start thinking that all of this bull is actually true.
And it gets so bad that the fear stops you from chasing what you really want out of life.
You’re so scared of failing that you never even tried in the first place.
I want you to do something with me right now.
We’re going to focus on overcoming that fear that society instils in us.
Think back to when you were a young man or a young woman. Maybe you’re still young right now, so this should be even easier for you.
Now, think about the biggest dream that you had back then. This is the one thing that burned brightest deep down...
Do what scares you!
Everyone has fear. Everyone has doubts. Not just you.
But all the good stuff, growth, opportunities and magic is on the other side of that fear. Every time you walk up to that line and retreat you are stepping away from your magic.
Step into it not away from and watch what happens.
And it’s not like one size fits all with stress. There’s the major stuff that feels like a weight on your shoulders. Problems with your family, worries about work, that sort of thing.
But there’s the little stuff too. Like maybe you didn’t sleep enough last night. Or, you might feel stressed about eating a little too much or something.
Everyone has stress to different degrees.
Here’s the danger of stress.
A lot of us numb it with food. It’s called emotional eating. Something stresses us out and it’s straight to the sugar, straight to the fatty foods that make us feel good.
You get that little high for a minute. But that’s all it is. The stress doesn’t go anywhere and now you’re stressing even more because you’ve eaten too much.
It’s a cycle and you can end up spiralling if you don’t get a handle on it.

Get around people who make you better, who push you to chase your highest and best self. People who want you to win and believe in you more than your do.
Get the naysayers and dream stealers out. You deserve more.
I am blessed and privileged to have this fella in my life as a dear friend.
Do your friends make you better? Do they push you to chase your dreams? I am so proud that today, all of mine do.

But now it’s time to switch on and get yourself focused again.
That means you’ve got to plug back into your successful mindset.

It’s from back in the 80s before she became the huge superstar that she is now. Back then, she was looking to be the first African-American woman to host her own talk show.
If you watch the interview, pay attention to the interviewer's tone. Hear that condescension in his voice?
He’s a typical naysayer.
Every time Oprah says something to him he brings it back round to what he really wants to talk about.
"What if it doesn’t work?"
Maybe you’re still wishing it was the holidays and you’re probably not alone in that.
Now, a new year is awesome for a lot of reasons. It’s a fresh start that gives us the chance to set some brand new goals for ourselves.
But there lies the trap.
Let’s say you’re looking to lose 50 kilos this year.
That’s a lot of weight. It’s so much that the number seems insurmountable.
That’s not to say it isn’t doable of course. But if you’re just saying that you want to lose 50 kilos, you’re going to have to wait a long time for that to happen.
That’s time where you can get discouraged and fall off the wagon. You start eating poorly again and boom!
What weight you did lose comes back and you’re no closer to your target.

3 1/2 years ago these boys came into my life. We rescued them from an abusive family thanks to Maggie's Rescue.
And today, they light the spark in me to rescue more animals and give them a safe home.
These boys are why I want my TJM retreat and animal rescue farm. Animals are pure love. They heal humans.
Retreats where people can come and stay, connect, grow and heal, and a forever home for animals to do the same.
10 years ago I dreamt about owning a car with a horse on its bonnet, now I just want the horse and an old 4WD to pull the float.
Find your reason. Your burning platform to go the extra mile each day. What lights you up? What's bigger than you?
