Weight Loss is All About Mindset Training

A couple of years back, I found myself at the lowest point I’d ever been in my life. I’d completely lost sight of who I was and what I wanted as a person.

I was just laser-focused on running a successful business. And I was miserable.

I hit rock bottom and I did it in front of everyone.

But here’s the great thing that I realised about that episode of my life.

I was as vulnerable as I was ever going to be. I had no-one to blame but myself for the situation that I was in.

However, I also had the chance to start completely fresh.

 In hindsight, hitting rock bottom was the best thing that ever happened to me. It allowed me to refocus on what’s actually important to me.

And in doing that, I completely changed my mindset and who I was as a person - and you can too.

I stopped chasing money and business success. Instead, I focused on doing the things that I love doing and helping people.

 When you do that, success isn’t far behind.

You Have to Work on Yourself to Find Your Happiness

A couple of years ago, I found myself in a terrible headspace.

On the outside, everything seemed like it was fine. I was running a business that was making a lot of money. That’s something I’d always known how to do.

To anyone else, it would look like I had the world at my feet.

But on the inside, I was really struggling.

I didn’t take pride in what I was doing and it all felt meaningless to me. I wasn’t happy, no matter how much dough I made through my work. It wasn’t fulfilling to me.

 That took me to some very dark places. I’d achieved everything that I thought I wanted and I wasn’t happy.

 It’s uncomfortable to admit this.

But I was about ready to neck myself. I’d lost sight of any hope of finding happiness and I came really close to ending it all.

Thankfully, I was able to overcome that demon in time to realise that things weren’t hopeless.

It was my mindset at the time that wasn’t serving me.

It’s All About Getting Back to Basics

Let me share a little story with you about how I ended up starting The Jowett Method.

A few years ago, I’d hit rock bottom. Everything was going wrong for me and I couldn’t find a way out.

I’d over complicated my life and I found myself chasing goals that weren’t ever going to fulfil me.

My mindset was all wrong.

I wasn’t doing the things that made me happy. Instead, I kept chasing the almighty dollar, no matter how miserable I was making myself in the process.

Even when my business was doing well, my life wasn’t.

Mentally, I hit rock bottom. I burned out and struggled to find any sense of purpose.

 Maybe that sounds familiar to you. Perhaps whatever goals you’ve set for yourself aren’t actually helping you to achieve happiness. Or, your mindset is such that even thinking about reaching your goals makes you anxious.

How Alicia Grabbed Life by the Horns (Instead of Waiting for Things to Get Better)

I always tell my clients one thing.

You can’t wait for life to get better.

 Life will always have complications.

 It’s always going to throw up hurdles and barriers that could stop you from achieving success in any goal you have.

So you can’t wait.

You have to learn to be happy right now. Otherwise, you just run out of time.

 TJM tribe member Alicia found herself struggling to find her happiness. She says she had an addiction to sugar that was taking over her life. Combine that with coffee and you have a lethal cocktail.

 Alicia was also taking various prescription medications for anxiety that she wanted to kick. Now, I don’t recommend people to automatically come off their medication when they start The Jowett Method. That’s something for you and your doctor to work out. But Alicia wanted to get away from them and she had the green light to try.

It's Great To Be Alive, Isn't it !?


It’s great to be alive isn’t it, but for many of us it wasn't always this way. I know what it is like to be in the darkness thinking that you will never come out.

When we begin to shift the "stinking thinking" and change the way we look at things, the things we look at change (Wayne Dyer interview) Video Link. We begin to step into the light. But it takes time and work.

I spent many years in the dark thinking that my life was destined to be one of sorrow and sadness, regret and fear. And I am here to tell you today that you can change all of that. If I can, you can, if you are willing to commit.

I had the gift of desperation so I began the journey of change, looking inside myself for the answers rather than blaming the outside world. When we are in the dark we medicate with food and alcohol. We use these numbing agents to give us temporary relief.

Trust The Struggle - It's Necessary


What I call "the transition" is the reason so few people successfully change. Allow me to explain. If you are a big drinker your friends are big drinkers. If you are obese your friends are obese. If you are prone to gossip your friends are prone to gossip. If you spend your life being a victim so do your friends. And so on. After all, you get what you are, not what you want.

So when you decide to break free, step up to the plate and take ownership, there is a transition of loneliness and often isolation. Your fat friends won’t support your weight loss and your binge drinking buddies won’t get behind your goal to booze less. That is the reality and unless you accept it, change will be very hard.

I was a binge drinking alcoholic for many years and when I first gave up the devils juice, all my party hard mates either disappeared or tried to get me back out there with them. You have to be so careful who you look to for support.
