I want to talk to you about limiting beliefs.
A friend of mine calls them the mooring lines that hold you back from achieving what you want out of life. The trick is to cut the mooring lines that keep you tethered to your limiting beliefs.
I want you to do something.
Take three minutes out of your day today to unpack those limiting beliefs. Get them down on paper. Everything that’s holding you back from being the person you want to be. Write it all down so that you have it all in front of you.
What’s the story that you’re telling yourself?
What are the beliefs that leave you feeling unworthy or as though you’re less than what you are?
What’s your excuse?
Wayne Dyer wrote a book called Excuses Begone. Everyone’s got their little excuses. Those reasons that we fall back on that allow us to feel better about not doing something that’s good for us.
These excuses fuel your limiting beliefs. You use them so much that you start to believe that they’re true.
All of those excuses turn into your story.
Stop the story.
Stop falling back onto the same tired old excuses. Stop believing the things that you’ve told yourself about who you are and what you’re capable of.
Cut the mooring lines that allow your limiting beliefs to keep hold of you.
And I know it’s hard. When nothing’s going your way, it’s easy to allow your limiting beliefs to hold you back.
Do me a favour.
If things aren’t going the way you want them to, ask yourself this question:
Are you aligned and living your values?
You may not be.
Remember that it’s 90% process and 10% outcome. That 90% is so important. It’s the excuses and the limiting beliefs that can creep into the process. When that happens, you’re no longer aligned and living your values.
You’re living the limiting story that you’ve created around yourself.
Stop living that story. If it doesn’t serve you, cut the line and get rid of it.
I believe in you.
