Guys, I want to talk to you a little bit today about Jenny. Some of you may already know who she is.
But for the uninitiated, Jenny is someone who’s followed a lot of my weight loss training over the years. She’s done Body Trim and a few others. And now, she’s part of the TJM tribe.
And over the years, she’s lost 97 kilos following my programs.
And she got down that low thanks to TJM. It’s with TJM that she finally achieved the mindset change that she needed to not only lose the weight but to keep it off.
Now, Jenny has a story that probably resonates with a lot of people in TJM.
She used to use food to medicate. Whenever something went wrong in her life, she’d go straight for the comfort foods. She’d load up on carbs and whatever snacks that would keep her going for a little while.
And she piled the weight on.
At one point, she got up to 150 kilos because she medicated with food.
It’s only after she stopped using food in that way that she managed to achieve sustainable weight loss.
There are two little secrets about food that Jenny likes to share with people.
Here’s the first one – food is for fuel, not comfort.
Stop thinking about food as this reward that you get for struggling through a tough day. Think of it as the fuel that you need to help you push when things get tough. It’s such a subtle mindset shift. But it’s also going to help you stop binging at the end of the rough days.
Now, here’s the second one – KIS.
Keep. It. Simple.
Your diet doesn’t have to be this super complicated thing where you’re measuring portions and combining different foods.
Stop overthinking it.
Stick with your protein, vegetables, and salads. If you want a snack in between, make it a protein snack. Drink a shake or eat a protein bar.
It’s really as simple as avoiding the carbs and comfort foods. Stop overthinking it and just start doing it.
