Choose to get good at what you do.

Choose to get good at life. If what you're doing is not working, change. Seek the truth, find the answers.

Weightloss, work, life, relationships. You can have an incredible life if you change the lens. You have to dump the old story. "I've always been fat, I've never had money, never found true love, work is hard".

These are stories and past content in your life, not your present moment reality.

The hard work is believing that's it possible for you to be great. Forgive yourself for past mistakes, apologise where needed. Move forward.

And most of all don't see the present moment as a means to an end. It is NOT. The working unit of your life is NOW not when. "When is a fictitious mind based narrative", it is not reality. Come back to reality (NOW) AND PRACTICE intense presence here now. Be playful with now. No agenda. Just do your very best with what's in front of you today.

This is the key to high performance as a happier time on earth.

The Disease of More (And How It Wants to Stop You From Reaching Your Goals)

I’ve got an addictive personality.

A little never feels like enough for me. In fact, enough never feels like enough.

I always want to have that little bit more of everything.

I call it the “disease of more” and it stopped me from ever feeling truly fulfilled in my life. After all, how can I achieve fulfilment if I’m always looking for more?

I found myself in that position because I hadn’t done the deep work on myself. I thought always wanting more was the mindset that I needed, especially in business.

Here’s an example of what this mindset does to you.

At 22, I founded Vision Personal Training. And that business skyrocketed. It was really pumping and things were going well. The business ended up with a ton of franchises everywhere and I seemed to have everything I wanted.

But I got bored of that in about 5 years. I wasn’t happy with what I achieved. I just wanted whatever came next.

You Have to Work on Yourself to Find Your Happiness

A couple of years ago, I found myself in a terrible headspace.

On the outside, everything seemed like it was fine. I was running a business that was making a lot of money. That’s something I’d always known how to do.

To anyone else, it would look like I had the world at my feet.

But on the inside, I was really struggling.

I didn’t take pride in what I was doing and it all felt meaningless to me. I wasn’t happy, no matter how much dough I made through my work. It wasn’t fulfilling to me.

 That took me to some very dark places. I’d achieved everything that I thought I wanted and I wasn’t happy.

 It’s uncomfortable to admit this.

But I was about ready to neck myself. I’d lost sight of any hope of finding happiness and I came really close to ending it all.

Thankfully, I was able to overcome that demon in time to realise that things weren’t hopeless.

It was my mindset at the time that wasn’t serving me.

It’s All About Getting Back to Basics

Let me share a little story with you about how I ended up starting The Jowett Method.

A few years ago, I’d hit rock bottom. Everything was going wrong for me and I couldn’t find a way out.

I’d over complicated my life and I found myself chasing goals that weren’t ever going to fulfil me.

My mindset was all wrong.

I wasn’t doing the things that made me happy. Instead, I kept chasing the almighty dollar, no matter how miserable I was making myself in the process.

Even when my business was doing well, my life wasn’t.

Mentally, I hit rock bottom. I burned out and struggled to find any sense of purpose.

 Maybe that sounds familiar to you. Perhaps whatever goals you’ve set for yourself aren’t actually helping you to achieve happiness. Or, your mindset is such that even thinking about reaching your goals makes you anxious.

Don't Numb the Joy and Love

The problem is that we cannot numb the bad emotions without numbing the good. We numb it all. You have heard me talk about numbing agents before (namely food and alcohol). This video reinforces those thoughts and provides a strategy.
